Buyer’s Market

October 7th, 2007 by vance

A lot of people are talking about the South Jordan real estate market as a ‘buyer’s market’ these days.

But what does that mean?

A ‘buyer’s market’ is, of course, one that favors the buyer. This is usually taken as ‘prices are low’ for South Jordan real estate properties, but it can also mean that there are more South Jordan property sellers than South Jordan property buyers, and that South Jordan property value is under more scrutiny because there are more real estate options.

In a buyers market, selling South Jordan real estate is not always a ‘bad’ idea. When people start hearing that we have a ‘buyers market’ on our hands, would-be buyers in South Jordan start looking a little more seriously. Pretty soon you have an South Jordan real estate market that achieves balance, as buyers consume available inventory and South Jordan real estate sellers find themselves with a premium opportunity on their hands.

Ultimately, this means you need an experienced South Jordan REALTOR

Showing Your Property

September 27th, 2007 by vance

Showing your South Jordan property can sometimes require a ’second eye’ to help ensure that you are emphasizing the right features, in the right way.

Recently there has been a lot of talk about ’staging’ in South Jordan. Staging your South Jordan property means to ‘dress it up’ for show, much like you would get yourself ready for a special event. Staging your South Jordan property includes everything from simply cleaning up a bit, to decorating with the right colors, fixtures, and accessories, and even home improvement additions.

But how much is too much?

Staging in South Jordan can be a bit tricky; you don’t want to spend money on staging, additions, or repair work because often times these efforts do not add value to your South Jordan property. The money you spend on some efforts to ‘fix up’ may not be recoverable. Expensive additions can also be a matter of personal taste, and may not have wide appeal to other South Jordan property buyers who may be planning their own additions, fixes, and changes.

Likewise, staging can sometimes be seen as overwhelming or even deceiving. Current research indicates that too much staging can turn potential South Jordan property buyers away because the personality of the South Jordan property is too strong and becomes the most significant deciding factor. Can you imagine missing a opportunity to sell your South Jordan property because the style of the decor was too strong?

South Jordan property buyers will be wary if staging appears to be implemented to hide defects or draw attention away from otherwise negative features.

Done correctly, staging can be an effective tool in selling your South Jordan property.
